Mbabane: Born and raised in Siphofaneni, Sibusiso Shongwe, known as BADNEWS is set to release a new single called ‘Second Chance’.
The 22 year-old upcoming rapper and vocalist told this publication that the song is about appreciating God for all that He has done for him and his family throughout his journey as an artist.
“The message of the song is about the things I have gone through in life and seeking God’s intervention in the challenges I face every day,” he said.
Shongwe said he will be teaming up with other young and talented artists, adding that the ‘Second Chance’ single will be produced by XeRo from Manzini.
The artist, who appreciates simple things like being healthy and able to go about his business of making music, told the Independent News that he started music at the age 17, with nobody’s help, where he recorded his first track called “Snitch Bitch”, produced by Soul Heal which got more 1000 downloads within five days. “I was abundantly encouraged by the views to my song which fuelled me to continue with my musical journey,” he said. He stated that in addition to the single he is about to drop he is working on a full album titled “Family Blood”.
Shongwe has performed on many gigs including school concerts where he free-styled on beats. He has also had the privilege of performing at Nisela Club where he shared the stage with local award winning artist, Diba Diba.
