MBABANE– The Eswatini Farmers Market has answered the call from young groovists, with South African Amapiano sensation Royal Musiq officially announced as the latest addition to the highly anticipated fifth edition of the event.
The announcement comes after organisers teased a new artist reveal following the withdrawal of previously announced acts Jazzworx and Thukuthela.
Responding to the youth who called for an act that would cater specifically to their groove culture, Farmers Market has brought in Royal Musiq, promising an energetic Amapiano experience when the festival takes place on October 10, 2026, at Malkerns Country Club.
Royal Musiq, a South African Amapiano producer, DJ and performer, is known for tracks including “Wadibusa,” “ZENZELE,” “BAPHI,” “Ke Wave,” “TEZE” and “AmaRider.”
His upcoming appearance in Eswatini is expected to add a strong Amapiano flavour to an already diverse festival programme, with the artist set to perform alongside his family of dancers.
The announcement follows an emotional update from Farmers Market organisers, who admitted that the changes to the line-up were not part of the original plan.
According to the organisers, Jazzworx and Thukuthela had been booked and paid for but later opted to honour an international engagement. Despite efforts to make the original arrangement work, the organisers ultimately decided to move forward with other artists who were available, committed and ready to perform.
Rather than allowing the unexpected changes to derail the festival, Farmers Market turned to its audience, particularly the youth, for direction.
“The youth asked. They said the line-up is perfect but we need one for us as groovists. We have responded,” the organisers announced ahead of the reveal.
The response has now come in the form of Royal Musiq.
With his Amapiano catalogue and live performance expected to get festivalgoers dancing, the addition gives the event another reason for music lovers to look forward to October.
Tickets are priced at E200 for students, E260 via DeltaPay, E300 for general admission, E120 for children and E850 for VIP. Children under three years enter for free.
