Manzini – President of Zimbabwe Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended an invitation to the Kingdom of Eswatini’s private sector for joint venture opportunities in various Zimbabwe economic sectors.
Speaking at the official opening of the 57th Eswatini International Trade Fair in Manzini, Dr Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe was open for business, sounding an extension invitation to Business Eswatini.
“Your majesty and dear brother, I invite the private sector of both Zimbabwe and Swaziland to explore joint venture opportunities in our agriculture, sugarcane production, mining, tourism, manufacturing, infrastructure development, renewable energy and information technology among others,” he said.
Dr Mnangagwa said both countries must equally nurture their entrepreneurs, empower their youth, and support local investors to transform these sectors into engines of inclusive growth.
Mnangagwa also highlighted the development of both countries’ aviation with the launch of direct flights between the King Mswati III International Airport in Sikhuphe to Harare, saying it would boost tourism and connectivity.
“Your Majesty, Eswatini Airlines direct flight to Harare demonstrates the kingdom’s commitment to regional tourism development and air connectivity. This has significantly enhanced connectivity between the two cities facilitating greater trade business exchanges Your majesty in Zimbabwe our people centered national development agenda is encouraged on the face of that Ilizwe lakiwa, libusiswe limukelwe ngabanikazi balo (A country is built and is ruled and is prayed for by its own people not another),” he said.
“As Africans let us continue to embrace our identity as said our self-sufficiency and sovereignty across all aspects. of our lives and economies.
“By believing in ourselves, valuing our own products, and investing in our own industries, we build stronger, sustainable, and more resilient economies, ourselves, nobody else. Your majesty, at the core of the development of our continent is embracing our own culture which is the soul and heartbeat of our nations. Preserving such cultural expressions is not only a duty to history but also a compass to guide future generations,” he said.
Dr Mnangagwa also commended the strong people to people ties between Zimbabwe and Swaziland, stating that he appreciated the warm hospitality extended to Zimbabweans who have made Eswatini their second home.
