MANZINI – South African gqom star Dladla Mshunqisi will headline the Independence Day celebrations at the Eswatini International Trade Fair on 6 September, when the kingdom marks its 57th year of independence.
The Durban-born performer, popular for his vibrant stage presence and hit songs, is expected to deliver an energetic show at the Mavuso Trade Exhibition Centre. His set forms part of the entertainment programme planned for the day, which also features local acts Thaifo Son, Jerry P, M Nation, Shongwe Nekhuphuka, Blaqmajor, DJ Mbo, Lady Zee and Culolam.
Organisers said the celebrations were designed to combine tradition, business and entertainment, creating an event that appeals to both local audiences and visitors from outside the country.
“We wanted to give the people of Eswatini a show that combines our national pride with international flair, and Dladla fits perfectly into that vision,” one organiser said.
Alongside the live performances, the day will include cultural showcases, family activities and exhibitions of local talent
