MAPUTO – President Daniel Chapo of Mozambique yesterday welcomed delegates to the Africa50 General Assembly, describing the gathering as a pivotal moment for the country and the continent.
The meeting is taking place in Maputo, with participants received in line with Mozambique’s tradition of warm hospitality and a spirit of African unity.
Mozambique joined Africa50 in 2024 and has since worked to strengthen cooperation aimed at transforming ideas into large-scale projects that drive national development and improve livelihoods. President Chapo said the partnership is strategic for the country’s vision over the coming years, particularly in advancing private investment in resilient infrastructure.

He noted that such developments would ensure fair, transparent and competitive access to services, positioning Mozambique as a key logistics hub in the region.
The president urged collective action among African states, stating that continental unity remains essential for building a stronger Africa.
