PIGG’S PEAK – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has unveiled a bold 30-year vision for Eswatini’s development, pitching the Grand Plan for National Transformation to Members of Parliament during an engagement held in Pigg’s Peak.
The session, attended by selected Cabinet Ministers and lawmakers, marked a key step in shaping the country’s long-term strategy for economic and social renewal.
Dlamini told MPs that the Grand Plan builds on the country’s previous development efforts, including gains in agriculture, education, and small business support. However, he said deeper structural challenges remain — including poor infrastructure, a fragile health system, and limited private sector growth.

“Eswatini is standing at a critical crossroads,” Dlamini said. “Do we stay on the same path, or do we dare to take a different route that leads to greater prosperity?”
According to the Prime Minister, the Grand Plan seeks to steer the country toward high-income status over the next two to three decades — a goal often echoed by His Majesty the King.
The plan rests on three key pillars: economic transformation, social transformation, and government transformation. Dlamini said these would help ensure broad-based, inclusive, and sustainable development.
He added that success will require coordinated efforts across all government departments and institutions.
