MBABANE– The 2025 edition of the Mbabane Marathon will take place on November 22, with this year’s event receiving a financial injection of E260,000 from MTN Fintech.
The launch, held at the Hilton Garden Inn, confirmed that runners will compete across four categories: the 5km, 10km, half marathon (21km), and for the first time, a full marathon distance of 42km.
Minister of Housing and Urban Development Apollo Maphalala, who officially launched the race, described the marathon as a symbol of the country’s urban energy and a catalyst for building healthier cities.
“The Mbabane Marathon is not just about the race—it’s about how we see our capital city. It connects people, promotes wellness, and celebrates the community spirit that drives urban development,” he said.
Tourism Minister Jane Mkhonta was also present at the launch, reinforcing the government’s backing for the event and its potential to position Mbabane as a tourism and sports destination.
Registration is currently open to the public.
