MATSAPHA – Former Mamelodi Sundowns centre-back Rushine De Reuck has signed a one-year contract with Simba SC, the Tanzanian football giants, as the new season approaches.
The 29-year-old defender, who once played under Simba’s current coach Fadlu Davids at Maritzburg United, is expected to boost the club’s defensive setup ahead of their CAF Champions League campaign and domestic league push. His arrival comes as Simba seek to regroup after a season without silverware.
De Reuck recently returned from a short loan spell at Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva, where he featured in just four games. The move brings an end to his four-year stay at Sundowns, which began in 2021 shortly after he was named the Premier Soccer League Defender of the Season.
Simba, who lost the CAF Confederation Cup final to Morocco’s RS Berkane, are currently rebuilding their squad with the aim of reclaiming their dominance in East African football.
