Matsapha- Government has reaffirmed its commitment to a modern, citizen-focused public service, placing digital transformation at the core of its national reform programme. The announcement was made in Matsapha during the 44th African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) Round Table Conference, which Eswatini is hosting for the first time.
Minister of Public Service Mabulala Maseko told delegates that the timing of the conference aligns with sweeping reforms already underway within the country’s public administration systems. He said the Kingdom is restructuring its governance approach to strengthen efficiency, accountability and agility across ministries and state institutions, with the ultimate aim of improving how citizens receive services.
According to Maseko, digital transformation now stands as a central requirement for effective governance as technology evolves and public expectations rise. He said the government intends to build a responsive and future-ready public service capable of delivering services with speed, transparency and dignity.
The minister also expressed gratitude to AAPAM for selecting Eswatini as host after Uganda handed over the baton. He noted that the attendance of delegates from across the continent reflects a collective commitment to improving Africa’s public administration systems.
Maseko said the conference serves as a platform for countries to exchange lessons, explore innovations and confront shared challenges. He added that Eswatini sees the gathering as an opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation and form partnerships that will support the Kingdom’s ongoing reform agenda.
