Manzini – Lomveshe Primary School in the Lesibovu area of Manzini played host to officials from the Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) last week, during an outreach programme aimed at promoting electricity safety and responsible energy use among young learners.
The campaign, part of EEC’s “Beyond the Hour” initiative, engaged pupils on key topics such as how to safely use electricity, the environmental impact of power consumption, the benefits of using electricity during off-peak hours, and the dangers of copper theft.
Learners were also given practical support in the form of 150 LED study lamps donated by the company. The lamps are expected to improve the children’s ability to study at home, particularly in households with limited access to safe lighting.
