MBABANE – Five actors from Eswatini have secured coveted roles in one of South Africa’s most popular television dramas, “Isitha (The Enemy).’

Mphilisi Shabangu, Sindiswa Gwebu, Floriano Santos, Maggie Phindile Ginindza and Kenneth Maseko are the new cast members of the show, selected from among hundreds of hopefuls who auditioned for a place in the acclaimed production.

The breakthrough comes after a rigorous audition process held earlier this year, when Black Brain Productions, the powerhouse behind Isitha, brought casting trials to Eswatini.

Over 400 shortlisted candidates eventually showcased their skills in front of casting directors, producers and talent scouts.

After intense evaluation, only five were selected to represent Eswatini on a platform that has launched many regional stars.

Black Brain Productions’ decision to scout talent within the kingdom has been widely praised as a game changer in promoting cross border cultural collaboration and opportunities for emerging actors.

The five actors are expected to bring fresh energy and diverse narratives to Isitha, while also flying the Eswatini flag high in one of Africa’s most competitive television markets.
