MANZINI – After attracting more than 10 000 teachers last year, the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) is bringing its highly anticipated Teachers’ Day Bash back to the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on Friday, October 23, 2026.
What started as a celebration of educators has grown into one of the country’s major annual entertainment gatherings, drawing teachers from across Eswatini for a day that combines appreciation, celebration and live music.
The 2025 edition set the bar high, with teachers from all four regions marching through Manzini before converging at Mavuso for the main celebrations. The event also marked World Teachers’ Day, held under the UNESCO theme, “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” while celebrating SNAT’s 98th anniversary.
The official programme later gave way to an entertainment-filled after-party organised by New Life Entertainment, turning the teachers’ celebration into a major night on the local entertainment calendar.
Last year’s entertainment programme featured a mixture of South African and Eswatini talent, with award-winning South African musician Sjava, real name Jabulani Hadebe, headlining the after-party.
He was joined by South African acts Umafikizolo and “Magumba” hit-maker Khadeair, while Eswatini artists including Phathwakahle Mabuza, Linda Dlamini, Young Zesh, Jerry P, Trend Twins, Tibza Tubuko Nxumalo, Cybos, DJ Cup, Lady Zee, DJ MBO, M Nation and Zaimarn also added to the entertainment offering.
The performances catered to different musical tastes, ranging from gospel and Afro-pop to amapiano and DJ sets, keeping the large crowd entertained throughout the celebration.
With the 2026 edition now confirmed, attention is shifting to this year’s entertainment programme. Organisers are yet to reveal the line-up, leaving teachers and music lovers waiting to see which local and regional stars will take to the Mavuso stage.
The event will also be open to members of the general public, expanding the celebration beyond the teaching fraternity. Ticket details are expected to be communicated at a later stage.
