KWALUSENI – Young people gathered in Kwaluseni on Wednesday for the opening of the AI and Digital Transformation Youth Summit 2025, where discussions focused on how artificial intelligence is fast becoming a driving force for business and innovation across Eswatini.
Entrepreneur Talifhani Banks set the tone of the summit with a keynote address titled From a Village to the World, encouraging youth to embrace AI as a modern-day necessity. Banks compared the use of AI to tools like sewing machines and farming equipment that uplifted previous generations. He told attendees that success in the digital age requires vision, access, and courage, not permission. Banks encouraged the use of platforms like ChatGPT and Canva AI to help young people create solutions and build businesses from scratch.
Participants also heard from Lucky Sithole of the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP), who unpacked AI’s potential in addressing real-world problems. Sithole discussed how automation and innovation could enable Eswatini’s young entrepreneurs to build scalable businesses and create meaningful change.
Celumusa Thusi wrapped up the day’s session by exploring how AI is transforming daily business operations. He spoke about the value of automating routine tasks to allow more focus on creativity and innovation. Thusi gave practical examples of how local businesses are already using AI-driven chatbots and financial service assistants like InstaCash to enhance customer service and cut operational costs.
