MBABANE – As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Investment (CSI) efforts, the Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation (RES Corporation) has donated two market shelters valued at E75,000 each to the communities of Manzana and Mhononweni, Dvokolwako.
The E150,000 donation benefits rural communities and aims to empower vendors by providing them with safe, weather-resistant structures that offer a dignified space to trade.
Many traders in these areas operate under difficult conditions, often without proper shelter or support.
Speaking during the handover, Nick Jackson, Managing Director of RES Corporation, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable, community-led development.
“We are proud to invest in infrastructure that supports informal traders and uplifts neighboring communities. Our goal is to create opportunities that allow people to grow their businesses in a safe and structured environment,” he said.
Residents of both communities welcomed the gesture, noting that the shelters will greatly improve their ability to operate year-round and contribute to local economic activity.
RES Corporation reaffirmed its dedication to impactful, long-term partnerships with rural communities through initiatives that support economic inclusion and social progress.
