Sithobela – Young people from across Sithobela gathered on Saturday for the 2025 Youth Day celebrations, an event organised through a partnership between the Sithobela Member of Parliament, the Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC), and the Small Enterprises Development Company (SEDCO).
Held under the banner “The Youth is Our Greatest Weapon,” the event drew learners, aspiring entrepreneurs, athletes, and out-of-school youth for open discussions and workshops focusing on education, employment, and talent development.
SEDCO used the opportunity to engage directly with young people on ways to build sustainable futures through entrepreneurship. Its Business Incubation Unit presented programmes offering business training, mentorship, office space, and support services tailored to help youth-led enterprises grow.
Local entrepreneurs took to the stage to share how they turned small ideas into profitable ventures. The audience also got a walk-through of how to register businesses, apply for funding, and improve financial literacy.
The education session challenged young people to explore both academic and vocational paths, including digital learning, to better prepare themselves for opportunities within and outside formal employment.
Participants also explored how talent and sports could be channels for development, with conversations centring on discipline, consistency, and the importance of community support in nurturing young talent.
The event was held at Sithobela under the coordination of the local Inkhundla, with hundreds of youths attending.
