Manzini – The Recharge Your Marriage Conference, hosted by renowned marriage and family therapists Dr. Bakhe and Nokwanda Dlamini, attracted couples from across Southern Africa to the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on Saturday. Attendees came from as far as Mozambique, Pretoria, Limpopo, Nelspruit, and several other South African provinces, all drawn by a shared commitment to improving their relationships.
Running from 12 PM to 7 PM, the conference offered a powerful blend of expert-led counselling, entertainment, and interactive workshops. The focus was on addressing key relationship challenges such as emotional disconnect, gender-based violence (GBV), and the growing trend of divorce.
“This conference is a platform not just for healing but also for learning how to sustain healthy, respectful relationships,” said Dr. Bakhe Dlamini. “Marriage is not a stroll in the park, it takes courage to keep going, but events like this remind us that it’s worth fighting for.”

Popular South African actor Mzi Mthabela encouraged spouses to take interest in each other’s goals and support one another in becoming their best selves.
Couples engaged in sessions promoting communication, shared responsibilities, and mental well-being. Speakers urged attendees to embrace teamwork and discard outdated gender roles in favour of mutual respect.
The event also created a safe space for open dialogue, peer learning, and the strengthening of community support networks. According to Dr. Bakhe, the initiative responds to rising rates of separation and GBV, especially in Eswatini, and calls on society to reinvest in family values.
Many left the event feeling renewed, armed with practical tools to fortify their marriages for the long term.
