Evelyn Baring High School clinched the Instacash Schools Tournament title after a tense penalty shootout win over Manzini Central High School at the weekend.
The final, which ended in a draw during regular time, drew large crowds and capped off weeks of competition involving top schools from across Eswatini.
Evelyn Baring’s Gamedze Hleliswa walked away with the man of the match award and received E1,000 from Letsego for his performance.
Despite finishing on the losing side, Manzini Central’s Njabulo Gama was the tournament’s top scorer and received E1,000 and a pair of football boots courtesy of Andile Footwear. His consistent goal-scoring had kept his team in contention throughout the tournament.
Similo Lukhele, also from Manzini Central, was named best goalkeeper after producing several key saves that helped his team reach the final.
Mpaka High School’s Sibonelo Vilakati took home the player of the tournament award for his consistent displays and influence throughout the matches.
The tournament, supported by Instacash and Letshego, brought together young football talent from various schools, offering them a competitive platform to showcase their skills.
