LUDZIDZINI – King Mswati III says only divine intervention can bring an end to the ongoing cases of child abduction and killings troubling the nation.
Speaking on Saturday, June 7, during a special prayer service hosted by the Nazareth Baptist Church at Ludzidzini Royal Residence, the king addressed the issue in the presence of thousands of worshippers led by His Holiness Unyazi Lwezulu.
The monarch told congregants that while the matter remains unresolved, he believed justice would eventually be served and that suspects would face the law. Drawing from scripture, King Mswati referenced Jeremiah 33 and the story of Prophet Daniel to offer hope and spiritual reassurance.
According to the king, just as Daniel was delivered from danger in Babylon after being tasked with interpreting King Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams, so too could the nation find solace and protection in divine guidance. He urged the faithful never to abandon their relationship with God, describing Him as the ultimate solution.
King Mswati thanked the Nazareth Baptist Church for standing in solidarity with Emaswati through worship and fellowship, adding that their interaction created a mutual opportunity for learning and growth between the church and the nation. He expressed hope that the church would return for future gatherings.
Earlier, Unyazi Lwezulu addressed the congregation and acknowledged the privilege of being in the presence of Their Majesties. He said it had been a long time since his last visit and dismissed suggestions linking his church’s presence to recent child disappearances.
The religious leader stated that he had not come for those who criticised him, but rather for those who loved the Nazareth Baptist Church. He expressed his desire for King Mswati to reign for many more years, so that even those who doubted him would eventually come to accept his leadership.
Unyazi Lwezulu also spoke on the importance of respect and shared testimonies of healing within his congregation. He mentioned that His Majesty Misuzulu kaZwelithini had joined the church before ascending the Zulu throne. He assured attendees of his intention to return to Eswatini next year.
