Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini met with YKK Corporation Chairman Hiroaki Otani on the sidelines of the Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, as part of efforts to deepen Eswatini’s long-standing ties with the Japanese garment fastener giant.

The meeting took place during a bilateral engagement between the Eswatini delegation and YKK executives, where discussions centred on the company’s 50-year presence in the kingdom and its future plans.

YKK, one of Eswatini’s most consistent foreign investors, has operated in Matsapha for nearly five decades, contributing significantly to job creation and industrial development. During a Japan-Eswatini Business Forum held earlier in the day, YKK’s Eswatini Industrial Relations and Human Resources Manager Simon Magagula spoke to Japanese investors about the kingdom’s stable investment climate. He said Eswatini remained a prime destination for companies seeking a supportive environment and investor-friendly policies.

Chairman Otani revealed that YKK intends to celebrate its Golden Jubilee in Eswatini next year and extended an invitation to Government to be part of the milestone event.
