Mbabane – Mbabane Government Hospital Intensive Care Unit’s (ICU) facelift is essential in keeping up with special needs of patients. Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) donated critical and scarce equipment to the hospital, essential in keeping the unit fully functional and ready to deliver.
The corporation donated; three alpha active 4 Pneumatic pumps with mattresses, four oxygen cylinder regulators, conox sensors for both adults and children, antimicrobial disposable curtains, disinfectant sprays, hugger warming blankets and LED television screens and laptops.
During the handover, ESRIC general manager Zama Ngcobo said the corporation finds it not just important but vital to support the ICU.
“The donation reflects ESRIC’s appreciation of the ICU staff’s tireless efforts in saving lives and their commitment to securing a healthy future for the nation,” Ngcobo said. Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Dr Thandolwethu Tembe highlighted that the hospital has been receiving assistance from ESRIC since 2021, at the height of COVID-19.
Tembe said as the hospital they appreciate having a partner like ESRIC who always come to your rescue when you are in need and meets your needs. “The equipment is important as the ICU is also a training facility for doctors with specialized skills and this training requires modern and high standard equipment for them to be successful,” Tembe said.
