MBABANE, April 2, 2025 — The United States Embassy in Eswatini has introduced new visa appointment procedures requiring applicants to present a DS-160 form with a matching barcode to the one used when scheduling their interview online.
The change, which took effect on April 2, means anyone arriving for a visa interview with a mismatched DS-160 barcode will not be interviewed and will need to reschedule.
Applicants are permitted to update their DS-160 form or reschedule their appointment, but only if the changes are made at least 72 hours before the scheduled interview. Any attempt to make changes within 72 hours of the appointment will not be accepted.
The embassy says the new rules are intended to improve processing efficiency and ensure applicants come fully prepared for their interviews.
