MBABANE — Festivalgoers attending the Makoti Festival on April 26, 2025, can enjoy a 20% discount on alcoholic drinks—provided they pay with DeltaPay, the Swazi-born digital wallet now confirmed as one of the official payment partners of the event.
The announcement was made as part of a broader initiative to improve payment convenience at one of Eswatini’s most celebrated cultural gatherings. While cash and other payment methods will still be accepted, the exclusive drink discount will only be available to those using the DeltaPay app.
Thembinkosi Mthethwa, speaking on behalf of the festival organizers, revealed that several promotions are underway to encourage early sign-ups. “We’re giving away tickets, running local activations, and encouraging festivalgoers to sign up early to enjoy the perks,” Mthethwa said.
DeltaPay’s Head of Marketing, Lethukuthula Ndwandwe, explained the move is intended to modernize the payment experience while giving attendees more value. “This partnership is about more than discounts—it’s about making payments easier and safer for everyone at the festival. With DeltaPay, all it takes is a quick scan to save and enjoy,” he said.
Available to both local and international attendees, the DeltaPay app offers instant, cashless transactions with zero fees at the venue. New users can register on-site or beforehand via the Google Play Store. To access the discount, users need to fund their wallets using a bank transfer, DeltaPay agents, or Instacash.
Makoti Festival draws thousands each year, celebrating Eswatini’s rich mix of music, art, fashion, and cultural identity.
