FNB Eswatini is celebrating three decades of operations this month, marking a major milestone in its journey as a proudly Swazi-led financial institution. The bank, which officially began operations in April 1995, will commemorate its 30th anniversary on April 13, 2025.
CEO Thokozani ‘TK’ Dlamini launched the anniversary celebrations with a message of gratitude to customers, staff, and partners who have supported the bank over the years. He noted that FNB Eswatini has grown from its early days into a leading financial institution listed on the Eswatini Stock Exchange, serving hundreds of thousands across the country.
“It gives me great joy to see how far we’ve come,” Dlamini said. “Our journey has always been about providing HELP that truly works for emaSwati. Today, 99% of our workforce are Swazi citizens, and nearly half of our executive management are women. That is something we are deeply proud of.”

He acknowledged the leadership of past CEOs and board members, the support of regulators, and the dedication of long-serving staff such as Nonjabulo Mthembu and Cebile Vilakati, who have been with the bank since its inception.
FNB Eswatini has built a reputation for innovation in the local banking sector, introducing services like the FNB App, eWallet, and Automated Deposit Teller machines. According to Dlamini, this spirit of innovation will continue to guide the bank’s future efforts.

As part of its future plans, the bank aims to expand its impact beyond traditional banking, strengthening its contribution to national development. With 14 branches, a head office in Ezulwini, and more than 500 Cash Plus agents across the country, FNB Eswatini has woven itself into the fabric of local communities.
Dlamini also pointed to ongoing efforts such as SME lending, local procurement, and the FNB Eswatini Foundation’s community investments — funded by 1% of the bank’s annual profits — as proof of its long-term commitment to shared prosperity.
“Sitintile Eswatini futsi asiyindzawo,” he said. “We’ve touched lives, and we’re here to stay.”
