MTN Eswatini has announced a sponsorship of E5 million for this year’s MTN Bushfire Festival, set to take place from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at House on Fire in Malkerns. The exciting news was revealed by MTN Eswatini CEO Wandile Mtshali during the official launch event, sparking anticipation for the festival’s return under the theme “Creativity, Unity, Sustainability.”
Alongside the sponsorship announcement, United Nations (UN) Eswatini Resident Coordinator George Wachira shared that eight UN agencies would be joining this year’s festival, signaling its expanding influence in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, speaking at the launch, recognized the festival’s significant role in not only attracting tourists but also boosting the local economy and promoting the creative sector. He expressed the government’s commitment to sustainability, noting that the festival aligns with the nation’s broader development goals, as outlined in the National Development Plan and the 2024/2025-2028/2029 Government Programme of Action.
