Minister of Sports, Culture, and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima toured Somhlolo National Stadium today, providing a crucial update on its ongoing renovations. The improvements are set to enhance the stadium’s facilities and ensure it meets international standards for upcoming events.
Nzima highlighted several key upgrades, including a newly installed wall fencing, a diplomatic gate, and a revamped VIP hospitality and holding area. The renovations also extended to the creation of a service parking area, a training zone, a control room, and enhanced gates and toilets designed to accommodate persons with disabilities.

Additional upgrades include a media tribunal area, a dedicated disability room, and the installation of a stand-alone generator. Technical benches have also been revamped to improve the experience for players and officials.
The Minister assured the public that the stadium would soon begin operations, pending final approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
