Traffic in Mbabane on Friday was treated to a spectacular show by Standard Bank Eswatini. Between 730am and 830am, a mob of dancers and performers, carrying Standard Bank flags and representing various professions could be seen energetically reminding those rushing to get to their workplaces that their dreams matter and that anything is possible through Standard Bank’s brand repositioning IT CAN BE.

Standard Bank continues to live by it’s purpose to drive Eswatini’s growth by fueling the dreams of Emaswati across all industries and sectors. The blue bank unpacked it’s new brand promise on Wednesday 14 August 2020 and emphasized that through renewed client focused initiatives and innovative financial solutions the bank would be bold and intentional in partnering with Emaswati to find new ways to make dreams possible. “This message of hope, assurance and optimism came at the right time as the country and the world at large deals with the COVID19 pandemic. Despite all the challenges to livelihoods and companies, Standard Bank is committed to being more responsive to our customers, our people and our communities,” said Sibusile Sigwane, the Marketing Manager.

This commitment and the new brand promise, encapsulated by “It Can Be”, was demonstrated by the Friday Flashmob in the streets of Mbabane dressed in colorful outfits that illustrated the various professions that are possible for Eswatini’s youth such as a lawyer, a photographer, a farmer, a dancer, a stylist, a paramedic and a make up artist. The inclusivity embraced by Standard Bank was further emphasized by the recent call for brand influencers, that challenged Eswatini’s youth to pursue their dreams and possibly becoming one of the brand ambassadors for the largest financial services organization in the continent.

Sigwane added, “Standard Bank is grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response we received on social media to our call for social media influencers. The country is rich in talent and big dreams and we want to tap into that potential and partner with our customers to find ways to make dreams possible.”

Sigwane went on to say, “the bank is really taking up the challenge presented by these unprecedented times and we are looking to deliver more digital services and increase the number of opportunities available to Emaswati. We believe that the fulfillment of dreams is what will drive the economy of the country forward and that is why we are embracing this bold and curious mindset through our new tagline It Can Be”.
