FNB pumps E65 000 to ETA Festive Campaign

Ezulwini: The First National Bank (FNB) in Eswatini has pumped E65 000 to the Esawtini Tourism Authority (ETA) festive Familiarization Tours for tourism influencers.

This is part of the Eswatini Tourism Authority festive season campaign to promote domestic tourism in Eswatini.

The festive campaign will be led by four influencers namely Thabile Maripe, Senani Mayabane, Todvwa Gwebu and Mpendulo Makhubu. The influencers will embark on four weeks of familiarization trips across the country sponsored by FNB Eswatini to the tune of E65 000.

These are influencers identified by ETA who have made an impact in promoting tourism in the country, showcasing what Eswatini can offer in the tourism space.

Botswana promotes tourism at ITB Berlin

The sponsorship announcement was made by FNB Marketing Manager Landokuhle Dlamini at the Mantegna Lodge in Ezulwini on Friday, during the launch of the Festive Season Tourism Campaign.

Making her remarks Dlamini said as a bank they saw it fit to be part of the campaign in promoting local tourism in the country.

“We are pleased to announce that we will be officially partnering with ETA on the campaign’s familiarization tours. In this regard FNB is sponsoring these informative tours with E65 000. This support will go towards tourism based activities, transport and accommodation for the selected influencers who will be driving the tours”

Dlamini said the partnership come at a time when FNB was on final stages of the development of a marketplace website, an innovative platform with a large component dedicated to showcasing the beauty of the Kingdom of Eswatini.

Making her remarks Eswatini Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Linda Nxumalo thanked FNB for their partnership in promoting tourism in Eswatini. She said the contribution will go a long way in ensuring that the campaign is a success.

Explaining how the influencers were identified Nxumalo said, these influencers are active people on social media who are already promoting Tourism in Eswatini. The influencers include Thabile Maripe, and Senani Mayabane who both established Vakasha Eswatini, a Facebook Group with over 54 000 members, whose main objective is to promote the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The third one is Mr. Mpendulo Makhubu of 3M Food Group. Makhubu has a Facebook Group know as ‘I cook 4Myself’ which has over 15 000 followers, and the last one is Ms Todvwa Gwebu who is a travel and tourism influencer and has over 62 000 followers on Instagram.
