Mbabane – A 54-year-old man and his two daughters, aged three and 12, have died after the children were allegedly force-fed a poisonous substance at Mashobeni.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) is investigating the deaths, which were reported on October 28, 2026, after officers received a distress call from the area.
According to police, the children’s 34-year-old mother discovered them at around 9pm after they had collapsed and were foaming at the mouth.
The girls were rushed to Pigg’s Peak Government Hospital, where they were certified dead upon arrival.
Police allege that the children had been force-fed the poisonous substance by their 54-year-old father, who also ingested the same substance and later died upon arrival at hospital.
The circumstances that led to the deaths remain under investigation, with police seeking to establish what may have triggered the suspected double murder-suicide.
An inquiry docket has also been opened to investigate the father’s death.
REPS has urged the public to allow investigations to proceed as officers work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
