Mbabane – Government has opened scholarship applications for students seeking financial assistance to study in South Africa, Namibia and at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Mbabane Campus, with applicants given until October 31, 2026 to submit their applications.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security announced the opening of applications on October 12, advising prospective students to apply online through the Scholarship Loan Application System (SLAS).
However, students wishing to study outside the country must meet the cut-off requirement of 33 points, calculated using their best five passed subjects.
The ministry has also ruled out provisional admission letters, stating that applicants must hold final offer acceptance or admission letters from their respective universities or institutions to qualify for consideration.
Applicants must further ensure that their chosen programmes appear on the Eswatini Government’s priority list of programmes of study, which is available on the ministry’s Facebook page.
The ministry has urged students to read and follow the instructions provided on the online application system carefully before submitting their applications.
Those who require assistance with the application process may contact the scholarship office on 2404 2515 or visit its reception on the ground floor of the Old Income Tax Building, commonly known as eTolishini, in Mbabane.
The announcement was signed by Acting Principal Secretary N. P. Dlamini on October 12, 2026.
