Mbabane- Business leaders, regulators, and legal experts from across Southern Africa will gather in Eswatini next month for the Intermational Corporate Governance Conference.
The International Corporate Governance Conference, organised by REDI Consulting, Training and Expert Advice in partnership with the Institute of Corporate Directors, will be held from November 11 to 12 at the Ezulwini Palazzo International Convention Centre.
The conference, billed as “The Pinnacle of Oversight,” is centred on the theme of moving corporate governance “from principles to practice”, according to the organisers.
His Excellency the Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini is expected to deliver the keynote address, while the speaker line-up includes some of the region’s senior figures in financial regulation, corporate leadership and institutional oversight.
Among them is Central Bank of Eswatini Governor Dr Phil Mnisi, who will be joined by Auditor General Timothy Matsebula, Eswatini Revenue Service Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule and Nedbank Eswatini Managing Director Fikile Nkosi.
The conference will also feature Public Enterprises Unit Director Busangani Mkhaliphi, whose institution oversees state-owned enterprises, and Sibani Mngomezulu, Director of Pectus Governance Services.
The regional representation includes Dr Pat Mazibuko, CEO of Pasima Enterprises and former executive at Eskom and Telkom in South Africa; Dr Mamphono Khaketla, former Cabinet Minister in Lesotho and former Regional Director of the Institute of Directors Mauritius; and Marcelino Gildo Alberto, former chairman of Mozambique’s EDM and LAM.
Legal expertise will be provided by Adv Dumisani Tembo, Senior Partner at AB & David Zambia.
The participation of officials and business leaders from several jurisdictions gives the Eswatini-hosted conference a regional dimension, bringing together institutions responsible for financial oversight, public accountability, taxation, auditing and corporate management.
For Eswatini, the event will provide a platform for local business and governance practitioners to engage with counterparts from the region on corporate oversight and accountability.
Early-bird registration is set at E7,000 per person until October 17, while the standard registration fee is E7,350. The fee includes a tour of the Ezulwini Palazzo International Convention Centre.
