Manzini- A 34-year-old Fairview woman accused of carrying out a string of housebreaking and theft offences across the Manzini Region has been denied bail after the Manzini Magistrate’s Court ruled that she was likely to commit further crimes if released.
Nomcebo Manana, of Fairview under Chief Jokovu, appeared before the Manzini Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a string of charges linked to alleged housebreaking and theft cases reported in different parts of the Manzini Region.
In refusing bail, the magistrate said the accused appeared to be a “serial offender” and there was a real likelihood that she could commit further offences if released pending trial. The court also observed that it was unusual for a woman to be facing several housebreaking charges.
Manana had pleaded with the court to release her on bail, saying she had children who depended on her. However, the magistrate ruled that the interests of justice outweighed her personal circumstances and ordered that she remain in custody until July 24, 2026.
According to the charge sheet, Manana is facing four counts involving housebreaking and theft, as well as theft.
The first charge alleges that on February 27, 2026, at Bosco in the Manzini Region, she broke into the home of Mduduzi Malambe and stole a black Samsung desktop computer valued at E3,500.
She is further accused of returning to the same homestead during April 2026, where she allegedly broke in again and stole a printer, backpack, toilet bag, three neckties and a flexible keyboard worth a combined E4,300.
On another count, the accused allegedly broke into Christopher Dlamini’s house at Fairview on May 1, 2026, and stole various items, including power tools, a gas appliance, an HP laptop bag and a 20-metre extension cable valued at E4,365.
