MBABANE- A group of determined young learners proudly represented their school at the prestigious Waterford KaMhlaba Model United Nations (WK MUN) Conference this past weekend, marking an impressive debut at one of the country’s leading academic events.
Over two engaging days, ten learners stepped into the role of United Nations delegates, joining participants from 16 other schools representing local and international institutions, as well as public and private, rural and urban schools. The conference provided a unique platform for young people to debate global issues, negotiate solutions, and experience the art of diplomacy in a professional setting.
Despite being first-time participants, the delegation quickly rose to the challenge. Throughout the conference, the learners confidently shared their perspectives, participated in thought-provoking discussions, and collaborated with fellow delegates to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Their enthusiasm, preparation, and willingness to engage demonstrated not only their academic abilities but also their commitment to becoming informed global citizens. The experience exposed them to diverse viewpoints while strengthening essential skills such as critical thinking, public speaking, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.
