MBABANE – Culture enthusiasts, music lovers, and tourism stakeholders are expected to gather at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground in Mbabane on Saturday, June 6, 2026, for the highly anticipated Afro Fiesta Carnival, a vibrant cultural event aimed at celebrating African heritage while promoting tourism in Eswatini.

Held under the theme “Rediscover Eswatini, Re-imagine Our Tourism Future,” the carnival seeks to showcase the Kingdom’s rich cultural identity and strengthen its position as a tourism destination within Africa and beyond.

The event, which will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm, will be open to the public free of charge, providing an opportunity for people from all walks of life to experience a day filled with entertainment, cultural performances, and African unity.

According to the event poster, attendees can look forward to performances from a diverse line-up of artists and cultural groups, including Sancheziey, the Sibhale Ngemasiko Group, and Mr Frederick Koue. The programme will be hosted by popular masters of ceremonies King Mora and Ronnie, who are expected to keep audiences entertained throughout the day.

The carnival is designed to bring together different African cultures, as reflected by the inclusion of flags from several African countries on the promotional material. Organisers hope the event will encourage cultural exchange, foster regional unity, and highlight the importance of preserving African traditions while embracing modern tourism opportunities.

The event has also generated excitement on social media, with one of the participating artists posting a message that read, “We here tomorrow,” signaling readiness for the much-anticipated celebration.
