Malkerns – Eswatini’s emerging music talents have been revealed as the Top 10 finalists for the MTN Bushfire Firefly 2026 competition. The announcement took place on Friday at MTN Eswatini Headquarters ahead of the live Grand Finale at House On Fire on 24 April.
Fans will determine the top three performers through voting at www.bush-fire.com/firefly by 17 April. The winners will perform at the globally recognised MTN Bushfire Festival 2026.
The finalists Cool Drop, Leelo G, Emagagu, Sweli, JD, Morewish, As 4JerryP, Hillary Mirindi, MCO Jamrock and Kyro showcase the diversity of Eswatini’s youth music scene spanning afrobeat, hip-hop, afro-fusion, RnB and trap.
Cool Drop, known for hits like Insimbi, said, “Making it into the Firefly Top 10 is a blessing and a milestone. This moment is not just mine, it belongs to all of us.”
Leelo G, an afro-pop and indie voice, said, “Seeing it pay off means a lot. It motivates me because I know this is just the beginning.”
Emagagu, a trap trio, said, “All the Top 20 artists are talented. Being selected to continue was shocking. We thank God.”
Sweli, recognised for her emotional storytelling, said, “Being part of this platform exposes me to collaborations, learning moments and growth. Passion and persistence truly matter.”
JD, a hip-hop lyricist, said, “The love I’ve received from people across the country pushes me to be a better artist.”
Morewish, blending gospel with afrobeat and amapiano, said, “Being in the Top 10 has boosted my confidence. I now believe in myself even more.”
As 4JerryP, who blends traditional and modern sounds, said, “Making it to the Top 10 is a dream come true. Hard work and creativity can take you places.”
Hillary Mirindi, alternative RnB artist, said, “I’m honoured. This is a great chance to refine my performance skills in front of a large audience.”
MCO Jamrock, afro-fusion singer, said, “Firefly has allowed me to revive people’s hopes. This competition is an amazing experience.”
Kyro, multi-genre artist, said, “Being selected is validation for all my hard work. I promise fans won’t be disappointed.”
