MBABANE – Eswatini-born Amapiano star Uncle Waffles has reached a new milestone, with her hit single Wadibusa featuring Royal MusiQ, OHP Sage and Pcee surpassing 48 million views on YouTube.
The milestone positions Uncle Waffles as a major digital player in the global music scene, generating significant income through the YouTube Partner Programme. Industry estimates suggest the official video alone could earn between £72,000 and £240,000, roughly E1.85 million to E6.2 million, with earnings likely higher due to her strong audience in the UK, USA and Europe.
YouTube’s Content ID system adds further revenue, capturing earnings from fan-made videos, dance challenges, travel vlogs and Shorts that use Wadibusa. With thousands of such uploads worldwide, total views and income are likely in the hundreds of millions, creating a steady passive revenue stream.
Beyond online earnings, the digital success signals high demand to festival organisers and promoters, allowing Uncle Waffles to command premium performance fees at international events such as Coachella and Tomorrowland. Her YouTube presence also attracts global brand partnerships in fashion, technology and beverages, with multi-year ambassador deals often surpassing income from music sales.
