Mbabane – Eswatini’s music scene marks a milestone with the release of Sancheziey’s highly anticipated Siyabonga Gogo remix, now available on YouTube. The remix brings together a powerful lineup featuring legendary vocalist Lodanda, contemporary artist Young Zesh, and the Limkokwing University Choir, blending tradition and modern sound to create a unique listening experience.
Speaking in a previous interview with Eswatini Observer, Sancheziey shared insights into the creative journey behind the project. He reflected, “Before the sit-down and coding of the remix, I had a question: can a beautiful thing be made even more beautiful? After the recording session, my answer was yes.”
The idea for the remix began at a Limkokwing University graduation ceremony where the choir’s performance inspired Sancheziey. “The choir gave me a taste that I couldn’t rest from. They made the song sound different in a wonderful way,” he recalled. This experience led to the choir playing a central role in the remix, adding emotional depth to the track.
A key moment for the project was the return of Lodanda to the studio for the first time since 2015. Sancheziey described working with her as a long-held dream. “Once I knew I could access the choir, I thought of the legendary Lodanda, even though I didn’t know how I would reach her,” he said. With support from Lindelwa Mafa, the collaboration became a reality, bringing a nostalgic element to the remix.
Young Zesh, known for his modern hip-hop style, also contributes to the track, complementing its traditional foundation. Sancheziey praised his input, noting, “Fashioned hip-hop flows that stay in line with the beauty of Lisiko lekucela.”
The song also benefits from the creative contributions of Mabhodweni, Ceceboy, Cy Ndukwemnyama, and Ulaka Lebhubezi, who helped shape the final sound. The official visualizer, available on YouTube, was produced by MegaSounds Records, with footage captured at the Arts and Culture Studios in Manzini. Music production was handled by Tus Mvuleni of Emadelwent Music and SeanCast.
Sancheziey expressed his gratitude to the people of Eswatini for their continued support of his music.
