Qacha’s Nek — Transport operators in Lesotho will soon benefit from a faster, more efficient online system for cross-border permit applications. The Department of Traffic and Transport, part of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, hosted a sensitisation session on Friday at the Urban Council Hall, showcasing the new Lesotho National Single Window (LNSW) system designed to streamline the F-Permit process.
Chief Transport Inspector, Ms. Thakane Motuba, who also serves as the Focal Person for the LNSW Project, explained that the government’s move to an online portal aims to alleviate the challenges traders face with permit applications. Traditionally, the F-Permit book used for cross-border transactions would often run out, causing delays for businesses.
“With the shift to an online system, we can reduce paperwork, save time, and lower regulatory costs. This system will enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility, and most importantly, ensure that permits will always be available for traders,” Motuba said.
The new portal allows traders to apply for permits by visiting the official LNSW website, www.lnsw.gov.ls. The platform guides users through the entire process, from registration to final application submission.
