Ntfonjeni – The Minister of Agriculture, Mandla Tshawuka, officially launched the 2025/26 Hamba Ubuye Planting Season fund at Ntfonjeni Regional Development Area (RDA) yesterday, handing over farm inputs to farmers in preparation for the new season.
Hamba Ubuye is a commercial maize revolving fund to increase maize production across the country and turn maize farming into a profitable venture. The initiative provides farmers with seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs, as well as technical support, to boost yields and strengthen food security.
Speaking at the launch, government officials said the program demonstrates Eswatini’s commitment to supporting farmers and ensuring a stable maize supply for the nation. The program is being implemented in partnership with the Eswatini Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise (EWADE) and the National Maize Corporation (NMC).
Farmers at Ntfonjeni welcomed the support, saying access to quality inputs and guidance from the government would help improve production and secure their livelihoods.
