Mbabane – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has reaffirmed Eswatini’s commitment to advancing inclusive and sustainable development as the country charts a new course under the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2026–2030.
Dlamini said the UNSDCF goes beyond a formal agreement, noting that it embodies Eswatini’s determination to drive tangible progress and long-term national transformation. He added that the country is entering a critical phase of its development journey, guided by key national blueprints including the National Development Plan, the Nkwe Programme of Action, and the Grand Plan for National Transformation.
“As a nation, we have set for ourselves a bold ambition to transition into an upper-middle-income country driven by inclusive, sustainable, and resilient growth,” the PM stated. “This Cooperation Framework is not just a plan; it is a promise to transform our country in ways that uplift every family, every community, and every liSwati.”
He outlined the actions required to realise the 2030 Agenda, calling for accelerated SDG implementation through targeted investments and increased financing in high-impact sectors. Dlamini also emphasised the need to strengthen governance, accountability, and institutional delivery systems, while fostering strategic partnerships in the spirit of Nkwe to ensure no one is left behind, particularly vulnerable groups.“
The integration of the National Grand Plan pathways into the Cooperation Framework ensures that our efforts are strategic, coherent, and guided by evidence-based priorities,” he said. “But ambition alone is not enough. We must match it with commitment, dedication, and results-driven implementation.”
The Prime Minister stressed that the UNSDCF represents a national commitment to building a stronger and more resilient Eswatini, where development gains are shared across communities and future generations.
