Rabat, Morocco – PUMA returns as the official technical partner for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations, taking place in Morocco this month. The German sports brand provides the official match ball and complete referee kits for the tournament, continuing a partnership with the Confederation of African Football that began in 2023.
PUMA has maintained close ties with African football for nearly three decades, supplying kits to more national teams than any other international brand. Its involvement spans historic moments, from Morocco reaching the FIFA World Cup semifinals to Cameroon’s Olympic gold in Sydney 2000, and AFCON victories by Egypt, Senegal, and defending champions Ivory Coast.

Beyond professional competitions, PUMA supports grassroots football and community initiatives across the continent. Programs like Cotton Made in Africa assist local farmers, while creative collaborations, including the Africa Unity Kit and artist-designed jerseys, bring African culture and design to a global audience. Legendary players such as Samuel Eto’o, Yaya Touré, and Jay-Jay Okocha have represented the brand over the years.
Since 2023, PUMA’s role as CAF’s technical partner has included supplying match balls and referee kits for major tournaments, demonstrating a long-term commitment to the growth of African football at all levels, including women’s competitions.
Peter Dangl, PUMA’s Director for EEMEA Distribution, said the AFCON is more than a football tournament, calling it a celebration of culture, passion, and talent. PUMA plans to unveil new projects around football infrastructure and history ahead of the 35th edition in Morocco, further cementing its connection with the continent’s game.
