Johannesburg- South African vocalist Mawhoo has finally broken her silence on the ongoing tension between herself and Naledi Aphiwe, shedding light on what really sparked their fallout.

In an emotional revelation, Mawhoo detailed how what started as a professional collaboration quickly turned sour, eventually leading to public insults and a viral online dispute.

According to Mawhoo, the misunderstanding began when Naledi’s sister, Amahle, hosted an event that both artists were booked to perform at. “She arrived with three girls and wanted everyone she came with to enter for free,” Mawhoo explained. “But there was already a line of people buying tickets, and others complained that it wasn’t fair.”

Tension rose further when Amahle reportedly asked for a refund the following day, claiming she had lost money because Mawhoo had allegedly allowed about twelve people in without paying. “That’s when things got heated,” Mawhoo admitted. “She started calling me hurtful names, words I can’t even repeat. It really broke me.”

The situation worsened when the altercation spilled onto social media, with both parties exchanging harsh words. Mawhoo expressed deep hurt over the fact that the fight involved personal matters.

When asked about the current state of their relationship, the “Ngiyamthanda Umjolo” hitmaker admitted that there’s still tension. “We haven’t spoken since the fight,” she said. “I decided to keep quiet and protect my peace. Sometimes silence is better than adding more fire.”

However, she also hinted that there might have been external influences fuelling the feud. “I feel like there’s a team behind her, telling her to make noise because they knew it would make her trend,” she said. “It’s sad when people use pain for clout.”

Mawhoo revealed that she no longer trusts Naledi after her private phone number was shared publicly online. “That’s why I now have two numbers,” she said firmly. “Privacy is very important to me.”

Despite the drama, Mawhoo maintained that she harbors no ill will. “I love her; I don’t have a problem with her,” she said softly. “I just wish things had gone differently.”
