Tottenham Hotspur forward Mohammed Kudus scored his first goal for the club on Saturday, helping Spurs secure a 2-1 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road and ending the home side’s 23-game unbeaten league streak.

The decisive goal came in the 57th minute after Kudus beat Gabriel Gudmundsson on the right and fired past goalkeeper Karl Darlow. Earlier, Kudus had assisted Mathys Tel’s 23rd-minute opener, which came off a deflection from Pascal Struijk. Leeds responded in the 34th minute through Noah Okafor, who capitalized on a rebound to restore parity before half-time.

The match saw several key moments, including a first-half header from Tel that struck the crossbar and a last-minute save by Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to deny Joel Piroe an equaliser. Despite Leeds’ strong start and continued attacking threats, Spurs held firm to secure the win.

The victory lifts Tottenham to second place in the Premier League, just one point behind leaders Liverpool, while Leeds remain 12th after their third league defeat of the season.

Leeds’ unbeaten home run had begun in September 2024, following a win over Coventry City, but could not withstand the Spurs attack on Saturday. The team will next travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley after the October international break.

Spurs manager Thomas Frank praised his side’s resilience, noting the importance of earning three points after recent draws and late Champions League exertions. Leeds boss Daniel Farke acknowledged missed opportunities and defensive errors that contributed to the loss.
