Mbabane – Laughter will fill the Mbabane Theatre Club on October 4, 2025, when the South African comedy sensation, Thenjiwe Moseley, returns to her homeland, Africa, with the “Thenjiwe Unplugged” Homecoming Show.
This isn’t just another comedy show; it’s a heartfelt reunion, a celebration of laughter, and a showcase of African humour that promises to leave audiences in stitches.
Through her publicist, Zookey Zarling, uThenjiwe who stays abroad shared her excitement about the show.
“The upcoming show is very important to me because it’s my homecoming show. It’s my first show in Southern Africa, including South Africa, since the Covid-19 outbreak. As much as I’ve been performing all over the world, I haven’t had a chance to go home. It feels like a family reunion,” she said.
Thenjiwe plans to share stories from her journey during the lockdown, revealing experiences that no one else knows.
Known for her razor-sharp wit and bold social commentary, uThenjiwe has captivated audiences worldwide. A lawyer by profession and a comedian, she has built a remarkable career over the decade, performing in sold-out shows across continents including the United Kingdom, United State of America, Nigeria, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Germany, Belgium, Canada, Dubai and South Africa, proving her universal appeal and cementing her status as one of Africa’s finest comedy exports.
Her breakout series, Judge Thenjiwe Khambule, became a viral sensation, and she continues to break boundaries as one of Africa’s finest comedy exports, inspiring audiences with her relatable storytelling and unique perspective.
Zarling shared that this tour will feature a stellar lineup alongside Thenjiwe, including the likes of Fly Motion, and Uthando Comedy, known as Ubaba KaWelcome. uThenjiwe is also collaborating with emerging local talents, including Mdura and Charles, ensuring a night brimming with diverse comedic styles and narratives.
Attendees are assured of an evening filled with laughter and engaging storytelling, as Thenjiwe tackles a variety of relatable topics.
“I talk about my everyday life as an African, especially living abroad. I want to make it entertaining, not just entertainment alone,” she explains.
She dives into themes such as relationships, marriage life, the struggles of being an African breadwinner, culture clashes, and the joys and challenges of motherhood.
“I talk a lot about being a mother, especially being an African mother in a country that doesn’t do things the way we do in Africa. It’s about the everyday hustle between South Africa and the United Kingdom,” she adds.
Tickets for the Thenjiwe Unplugged Comedy tour will range between E200 to E300, according to Zarling.
Thenjiwe will kick off her Thenjiwe Unplugged comedy tour in Durban on October 3, 2025, at the Playhouse Company, before bringing it to Eswatini on October 4, 2025, at the Mbabane Theatre Club, before extending it to Zimbabwe, Zambia and Europe.
