Mbabane – FNB Eswatini has appointed Ms Elizabeth Arden as the new Chairperson of its Board of Directors, marking the first time a woman has held the position in the bank’s 30-year history.
The announcement was made ahead of the bank’s Annual General Meeting set for October 2025, where outgoing Chairperson Mr Joseph Vusumuzi Ndlangamandla will officially retire after nine years of service.
Mr Ndlangamandla is credited with strengthening the board’s effectiveness, building stakeholder confidence, and steering the bank through key phases of growth and transformation. The bank expressed gratitude for his leadership and dedication.
Ms Arden, a Chartered Accountant with more than three decades of experience in finance, risk management, compliance and strategic leadership, has served on the FNB Eswatini Board since 2018 and currently chairs the Audit Committee. Her career has spanned senior roles including Chief Financial Officer, General Manager and Executive Director in both the banking and agricultural sectors.
Speaking on her appointment, Ms Arden said she was honoured to take up the role as the bank celebrates three decades in the Kingdom. She paid tribute to her predecessor, saying she was fortunate to take over from a seasoned leader who leaves the institution on a strong footing, supported by a capable board and management team.
