MBABANE – Rising music sensation Zee Nxumalo has reached a career-defining milestone as her chart-topping single ‘Ngisakuthanda’ has officially achieved triple platinum status.
The heartfelt track, which resonated deeply with fans for its relatable lyrics and soulful delivery, has become one of Nxumalo’s most successful releases to date. Its infectious melody and emotional storytelling struck a chord with listeners, propelling it to dominate streaming platforms, radio airplay, and live performances.
Since its release, ‘Ngisakuthanda’ has not only captured the hearts of music lovers across the region but also cemented Nxumalo’s place among the fastest-rising stars in the industry. The triple platinum certification reflects both the massive support from fans and the song’s staying power in a competitive music landscape.
Speaking on the achievement, industry insiders described the milestone as a “testament to Zee’s growing influence and undeniable talent,” predicting even greater heights for her career.
The hit single, produced by Lungelo “Luu Nineleven” Ngcobo and DJ Proton, has become a fan favourite, its infectious rhythms and soulful vocals driving its virality. On her Facebook page, she posted that ‘Still can’t believe this, thank you so much for supporting me’, suggesting that even she is in shock of her achievement and the way fans are supporting her.
According to the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA), for a single to be certified triple platinum, it must surpass 120 000 units in sales.
This means that ‘Ngisakuthanda’ has now been streamed or bought over four million times, a remarkable milestone for a relatively new artist. Nxumalo’s commercial trajectory has been nothing short of an ascent. Her previous successes, including the multi-platinum-certified ‘Funk 55’, had already established her as a formidable force.
