Mbabane – Twenty young graduates on six-month internships with the Central Bank of Eswatini under the Eswatini Youth Empowerment Programme (EYEP) met with Governor Dr. Phil Mnisi yesterday, 18 August 2025.
Dr. Mnisi urged the interns to avoid negative behaviours such as complaining, making excuses, and nagging, saying these habits “will not get you anywhere” and generate “negative adrenaline.”
He encouraged the graduates to recognise those who contributed to their journey, including “your Creator, your parents, and those who have opened doors for you.”
Sharing his personal journey from modest beginnings to leading the Central Bank, Dr. Mnisi challenged the interns to take full advantage of the opportunity and gain skills that will help them succeed.
EYEP is a government-funded initiative, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aimed at equipping young graduates aged 18 to 35 with work experience, skills development, and access to employment while providing a monthly stipend.
