MBABANE – Former Mbabane Highlanders AM player, Muhle Siyaya, is poised for a potential career revival with Manzini Wanderers after being released by his former club.

Siyaya, a utility player known for his versatility and strong work ethic, was seen training with Wanderers last week, sparking rumours of a move. The trial comes after he and several other players were let go by Highlanders’ new head coach, Ernest Mavuso, following a pre-season shake-up.

Highlanders’ new management, led by Mavuso, conducted an assessment based on player fitness, tactical awareness, and technical ability. Siyaya and several teammates, including Sihle ‘M’bhalaza’ Mkhonta, Wandile Ntshakala, Innocent Dlamini, Melusi ‘Mega’ Magagula, and goalkeeper Bhekisisa Dlamini, reportedly failed to meet the new standards. A source close to Siyaya emphasized that his departure was not a reflection of his talent but rather a poor fit for the coach’s specific system.

The Wanderers, fresh off a period of turbulent legal battles and their return to the Premier League, are looking to build a formidable squad for the new season. They have welcomed Siyaya, who can play in multiple positions, for a trial. The club sees his versatility as a valuable asset. The potential move could provide Siyaya with a platform to prove his critics wrong and secure his place in the Premier League.

However, the Wanderers’ Managing Director, Wellington Motsa, has been quick to downplay the rumours. Motsa stressed that the club would not scout a player who is still under contract with another club without proper clearance.

The outcome of Siyaya’s trial remains to be seen, but his journey for a new beginning has captured the attention of Eswatini’s football community. The Wanderers’ evaluation of new players also includes Evelyn Baring High School goalkeeper Lilhe ‘Pickford’ Mhlungu, who impressed during the 2025 ESSA INSTACASH Schools Soccer Tournament.
