MBABANE – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development will roll out nationwide consultations on the review of the Rating Act of 1995, starting Wednesday, August 6.
The consultations aim to gather input from stakeholders and residents on proposed changes to the decades-old legislation governing property rates in Eswatini. Sessions will be held in towns across all four regions, with each local authority expected to communicate specific dates and venues to their communities.
According to the ministry, the review is part of efforts to modernise urban development policies and improve municipal revenue collection frameworks. Residents, property owners, ratepayers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meetings and contribute to shaping the new policy direction.
