Mbabane – The Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC) has partnered with the Human Rights Commission in a renewed effort to protect students from unaccredited institutions operating in the country.
The two bodies met this week at the ESHEC Boardroom in Mbabane, where discussions centred on collaborative strategies to uphold the integrity of Eswatini’s higher education sector.
At the heart of the talks was a shared concern over the rise of institutions offering qualifications that are not officially recognised. Both institutions agreed to work together on initiatives that will educate the public on accreditation processes, improve systems for verifying academic qualifications, and ensure stricter enforcement of education standards.
The Human Rights Commission pledged its full support to ESHEC in holding non-compliant institutions accountable, a move aimed at ensuring that students are not misled or short-changed in their pursuit of higher education.
