MAGENGENI – A local cooperative has received a major agricultural boost following the handover of a tractor and farming implements valued at E1.5 million.
The donation was made by the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, S’khumbuzo Dlamini, who officially handed over the equipment to the Sakhakwetfu Magengeni Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited.
The farming tools were financed through the Regional Development Fund (RDF), a government initiative aimed at supporting grassroots economic projects.
Speaking during the handover, Minister Dlamini commended the cooperative for implementing a quality project that supports both subsistence and commercial farming. He urged the community to make full use of the resources to boost productivity and income.
He further encouraged more citizens, particularly young people and persons with disabilities, to apply for funding under the RDF to launch their own income-generating projects.
